The Hall’s roots run deep, with mentions in the Domesday Book and associations with historic figures like Henry de Ferrers, the Cokaynes, the Harthills, and even Henry VIII. In 1259, Sir Richard de Hartle received a Papal Bull from Pope Alexander II at this very location. Though the original chapel ceased religious functions in 1546, its essence lives on in “The Chapel” and “Hartle Cottage”.
